Wireless motion, light, vibration, tilt and current sensors
Connect your Monnit sensors to an online dashboard beta
Monnit makes an unusually wide range of wireless sensors: motion, light, vibration, tilt, door and window contacts, dry contacts and current-loop sensors for equipment. SensorConsole reads them through the iMonnit API, so they can sit on the same dashboard as your environmental sensors. API access requires an iMonnit Premiere or Enterprise plan from Monnit.
This connection is in beta: it is newer than our other integrations. If a reading does not come through, email sensorconsole@protonmail.com and we will sort it out.
What you can monitor
- PIR motion sensors
- Light (lux) sensors
- Vibration and tilt sensors
- Door, window and dry-contact sensors
- 0-20mA current-loop sensors
How to connect Monnit online
- Check your iMonnit plan API access needs the Premiere or Enterprise plan.
- Create API keys In iMonnit, open the API section and create an API key and secret.
- Find the sensor ID It is shown with each sensor in iMonnit.
- Add it to SensorConsole Choose Connect a sensor, pick Monnit, and enter the key, secret and sensor ID.
Use cases
A current-loop sensor shows when a machine is actually running.
Know about unexpected movement in a storage unit or second home.
Spot unusual vibration before a failure.
Questions about Monnit and SensorConsole
Can I monitor Monnit sensors on my own dashboard?
Yes, with an iMonnit plan that includes API access.
Which Monnit sensors are supported?
Any sensor that reports a reading through the iMonnit API; each sensor is added as its own device.
Do I need to pay Monnit?
API access is part of Monnit's paid iMonnit plans. SensorConsole itself is free.
