Report Tasmota telemetry with a single rule

Send Tasmota sensor data to an online dashboard

Tasmota can send an HTTP request whenever it publishes telemetry, using a rule with WebQuery. That is enough to push a temperature or power reading to SensorConsole without MQTT, a broker or a hub. Most Tasmota builds do not support HTTPS, and SensorConsole's sensor endpoint accepts plain HTTP for exactly that reason.

How to connect Tasmota online

  1. Create a generic push device In SensorConsole, choose Connect a sensor, then DIY / generic push. Copy the token.
  2. Find your telemetry name In the Tasmota console, note the sensor name and field in the telemetry, for example DS18B20 and Temperature.
  3. Add the rule Paste the commands below, replacing YOUR_TOKEN and the sensor name.
  4. Set how often it reports TelePeriod controls how often telemetry is sent.
# Run these in the Tasmota console. Replace YOUR_TOKEN, and DS18B20 / Temperature
# with the sensor name and field shown in your own telemetry.

Rule1 ON tele-DS18B20#Temperature DO WebQuery http://sensorconsole.com/ingest-generic-push.php?token=YOUR_TOKEN&temp_c=%value% GET ENDON
Rule1 1

# How often telemetry (and therefore this rule) fires, in seconds:
TelePeriod 600

YOUR_TOKEN is the device token shown on your device page after you create a generic push device.

Use cases

Cheap sensor nodes

A flashed plug or board that reports on its own.

Power monitoring

Chart what a plug's connected load draws.
